The question was posed “Which specific algorithms are used in ExaData by the various RMAN Compression types?”
While Oracle lists some of these algorithms, it is not easy to find the exact mapping between option names and algorithms.

In the forum there is a reference, but no link, to a [[Kevin Kemph]] post that states the following.
If you don’t have Advanced Compression, you set it to BASIC. If you do have Advanced Compression enabled, you can choose between HIGH, MEDIUM and LOW. In reality, these terms map out as follows: HIGH = unmodified BZIP2 MEDIUM = ZLIB LOW = LZO BASIC = BZIP2
[!note] Some of these compression types require an Oracle license to use Advanced Compression Option (ACO)
